What We Do

Hava, Inc. creates mass manufacturable air filtration materials to help people breathe safer and cleaner air. Our technology is based on a novel material termed metal organic frameworks (MOFs). 

Metal-organic frameworks (MOFs) are chemically diverse, high-surface-area microporous materials with properties well suited to a wide spectrum of commercial applications. Thousands of distinct MOFs have been synthesized in research labs around the world.

At  Hava, we focus on developing MOFs on fabrics (MOF-fabrics) using our patent-filed manufacturing technique that enables the MOF to form within and on the fabric, such that the MOFs are not easily removed from the fabric, even after washing. Therefore, the MOF-based fabrics can be:

• Manufactured in large scale
• Effective at particle filtration now, and at chemical and biological filtration in the near future
• Reusable and washable

Because our method of creating MOF fabrics is similar to that of dyeing cloth, our MOF-coated fabrics can be integrated into existing textile dyeing processes for a wide range of fabrics. For example: cotton, bamboo, wool, hemp, and spandex.
